Viveza to Exhibit at ArtNow Miami

This December, Viveza will join the growing number of Seattle-based galleries making their mark on the international art fair circuit. From December 6th through the 9th, we will exhibit artwork culled from across the United States at ArtNow Miami: a satellite fair of the much celebrated Art Basel Miami Beach, to be held two blocks away at the newly renovated Claremont Hotel. Now in its 6th year, Art Basel Miami Beach--lauded as "the hottest contemporary art fair in America" by the New York Times--is the American sister event of Art Basel Switzerland: the most important annual art show worldwide for the past 37 years.

ArtNow reviewed applications from galleries across the globe and Viveza is honored to join their select group of exhibitors. "Part of our mission is to cultivate a multi-faceted, timely body of artwork that explores key pillars of complexity in the Information Age, such as systematic reductions, pattern emergence and interconnectivity," notes Michael Rivera-Dirks, director of Viveza, "and we're very excited about this opportunity to share that vision with a cosmopolitan group of enthusiasts and collectors." Rivera-Dirks will join Chad Wasser, general manager, and Jeremy Johnsen, artist and show manager, in representing the Seattle art scene on an international stage.

Interviews with Viveza artists and staff are available upon request. Check our blog between December 6th and December 9th to find out more about ArtNow and get a local perspective on Miami's international art fair frenzy.

About Viveza & The Aesthetic of Complexity

Live Vividly
Viveza is committed to developing our Aesthetic of Complexity and making it accessible to the world at large while cultivating rising artists and collectors. Situated in the lively Belltown district of Seattle, two blocks south of the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park, Viveza has spent over four years strengthening Seattle's art community through emerging artist cultivation and collector education.

The Aesthetic of Complexity
Viveza explores the architecture of complex systems, conflating logic, experience and emotion in structured excavations of the fundamentals of human perception in the Information Era. Not only an art gallery in the traditional sense, Viveza also functions as a laboratory of sorts, presenting artistic research in fields new to art and science both. Viveza cultivates art that explores the complexity found in all systems; from science to literature, basic human relationships to religion. Either through creative process or subject matter, our artists reference complexity in various systems; echoing a rising hum in the art world that owns those systems by dissecting, restructuring, mythologizing or satirizing them.

Viveza Art
Viveza scours geographic and virtual hotbeds of scientific, technological and artistic innovation to identify trends in the art world that exemplify our aesthetic. Sometimes this means identifying several individual artists who, when viewed together, reveal something profound about the direction of contemporary art. We use a collaborative, think-tank approach to art acquisition, resulting in a vision that is diverse while remaining holistic and coherent. The art we select is created by artists that use unique creative processes, effectively realize complex concepts, and engage head-on with timely ideas.
